As a result of continued company growth, GPA is looking for an experienced Functional Safety Engineer to join our Risk Engineering team in Adelaide (head office), Perth, Brisbane or Melbourne offices. We are happy to consider applications from candidates seeking a full or part-time position.

We welcome applications from engineers with demonstrated experience in Functional Safety. To be successful in this position, you should have completed a Bachelor's or Master's in engineering, preferably with an IEC background. Ideally, you have demonstrated experience in Functional Safety within an operating or engineering design company.
Key Duties: Deliver functional safety lifecycle activities inclusive of:Hazard and Risk Assessment Facilitation, including facilitation CHAZOP and E-HAZOPDevelopment of Safety Requirements SpecificationsSIL VerificationDevelopment Functional Safety Management PlansUndertaking Functional Safety AssessmentsPromoting safety in design principlesSupporting Clients to understand and manage the requirements of Functional Safety and Machine Safety StandardsDesired Skills and ExperienceIdeally, your skills and experience will include the following: A background in Instrumentation, Electrical & Controls is highly desirable Knowledge of AS IEC 61508/61511CHAZOP and Electrical HAZOP Facilitation experienceMachinery Safeguarding experience is beneficialStrong interest in functional safety and risk engineeringSound technical aptitudeStrong verbal and written communication skillsNatural ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholdersA positive mindset focused on solutions and customer serviceWillingness to learnA requirement for this role is to complete a satisfactory pre-employment medical and Australian police clearance.
