We are seeking a full-time Chef with the right attitude and passion for working in an Italian kitchen with at least 3-4 years of relevant experience.
Minimum of a Diploma qualification or equivalent in substantial experience.
Benefits: Work with a well-reputed and awarded restaurant in the regionSalary of $74,000 - $80,000 + super for this full-time positionOpportunity for career growthTask & Responsibilities: Menu planning (including seasonal menu planning, weekly chef's specials, and catering) and estimating food and labour costsOrder food suppliesExamine the food and supplies to ensure qualityPrepare and cook food as per menu and recipesStore correctly labelled food in temperature-controlled facilitiesEstimate food requirementsHire, train and manage all kitchen staff, including employee development, issuing disciplinary action and conducting performance reviewsOversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standardsManage kitchen staff and delegate tasks related to meal prep, cooking, and delivering food to diners in a timely fashionFollow and enforce workplace health & safety regulations, implement and be a leader of hygiene policies and examine equipment for cleanlinessQualification & Experience: At least 3-4 years of proven experience as an Italian Chef or in a similar role, specialising in Italian or western cuisineIn-depth knowledge of traditional Italian/western recipes and cooking techniquesAbility to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detailFlexibility with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPreferred Qualifications: Diploma qualification or equivalent in substantial experienceEssential Skills: Good cooking and presentation skillsExcellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures and assist with all facets of kitchen operationAble to work in a team, in a busy kitchen operation and lead a kitchen teamGood communication skills and people skillsMaintain good health and hygieneAbility to train cooks/chefs and junior staffGreat time management and organisation skillsAbout CompanyWe are an Italian Restaurant in the Albury Wodonga region, serving quality western and traditional Italian cuisine.
