About the Role As a Chef Manager, you will work with a team of Catering assistants to lead a high functioning kitchen and catering service through the provision of quality, well presented, nutritious meals that meet Resident dining preferences and needs in a home-like environment. Ensuring excellence always, whilst adhering to all related quality standards and regulations.
Benefits of Bupa VIVA Happier & Healthier - our employee wellbeing program - live healthier and happier.Career development; You'll have a real say in shaping the future direction of the business and your own career.Access to leading training and professional development - supported by our quality education team and expert clinicians.Comprehensive induction and buddy program - we set you up for success from the outset.Be recognised and rewarded - Bupa Love Reward & Recognition Program ensures that the gratitude of our residents and their families is passed on to staff who deserve it.Duties Run an efficient, high-quality dining and catering service for the residents of the care home.Collaborate with the Lifestyle team to ensure all activities and events are appropriately planned and catered for.Ensure any specialist resident dietary requirements are met (e.g. diabetes, weight loss or gain).Prepare the main dishes for lunch and dinner.Oversee the washing, preparation, and cooking of all foods, including vegetables, soups, sauces, gravies, desserts, sandwiches, salads, bread, and rolls.Ensure that all meals are prepared fresh daily utilising seasonal produce.Manage safe and correct processes in food purchasing, storage, handling, and preparation.Implement infection control principles and practices as per infection control policies.Complete paperwork promptly and correctly as per duty list and Quality & Assurance Processes.Identify training needs and requirements of Catering Staff.Skills and Experience Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is essential.Aged Care / Hotel/Restaurant experience preferred.Ideally, you would have previous experience in a similar role.Effective time management, organisational skills and budget management.Previous experience in leading a team is desirable and managing a budget.Understanding of Food Audits.Demonstrated experience working within a multidisciplinary team and ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders.Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service focus.How to Apply Click Apply to be taken to our online application process.
