About the Role : We are searching for a Full Stack Javascript Tech Lead, working primarily in React, NodeJS, NextJS, Vercel and interfacing with other systems (SaaS tools, Microservices etc) through GraphQL or REST APIs.
The role would be in leading out development for eCommerce / CMS projects, either through new features/enhancements to existing projects, or developing new projects from scratch. Our projects are delivered with a hybrid mix of on-shore and off-shore teams, which you would be leading.
Responsibilities: Technical Leadership: Lead the technical development of assigned projects, ensuring they harness the latest in React, Next.js, and JavaScript libraries and development practices. Working alongside the project managers to participate in daily stand-ups, discovery workshops, etc. Feature Implementation Leadership: Spearhead feature implementation, grooming tasks by evaluating the size of work, setting story points, and delegating to peers. Providing regular updates on tasks, and monitoring the development team on your projects. Design Alignment: Ensure project implementation aligns with the designs (typically Figma), maintaining fidelity to the envisioned user experience. Guidance: Provide guidance to less senior developers, fostering their professional growth and development within the team. Automation and Process Improvement: Automate processes and build procedures for existing and new projects, enhancing efficiency and reliability. Solution Engineering: Offer optimal solutions to complex problems, driving innovation and excellence in project outcomes. Code Quality Assurance: Ship clean, testable code that facilitates easy onboarding for developers across teams. Conduct thorough code reviews for recently submitted pull requests to maintain high standards of code quality and consistency. Familiarity with SonarQube and other code-quality tools.
Skills and Experience : Core Technologies: Proficiency in ReactJS, NodeJS, TypeScript, webpack, and package managers such as Yarn or Npm is essential. Experience with React storybook, Jest, Ghost Inspector, or similar tools is also required. Framework Expertise: Strong experience with NextJS and Vercel. A deep understanding of HTML, CSS, Sass, TailwindCSS, and Sass State Management: Experience with React Redux, Context API, or MobX. API Integration: Solid experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, and integrating with backend systems. Core Technologies: Expertise in headless CMS systems (Contentful, Contentstack, Sanity, Hygraph etc), experience in eCommerce (CommerceTools, Magento/Adobe Commerce, Shopify, etc) and ideally in a headless/composable environment. Development Tools: Familiarity with Bitbucket, Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines for streamlined development and deployment processes. Debugging and Standards: Exceptional debugging and code tracing skills, with strict adherence to coding standards.
