About the Role We currently have an opportunity for an Estimator with a background in Commercial Construction, ideally with project values from $1 million to $20 million. Our Estimator would come from a construction background that has progressed their career within Commercial Construction or Interiors. With clients ranging from local Government to Private Schools and Churches, this Mackay Construction company is firmly engrained into the area and has a fantastic reputation.
Key Responsibilities for the Role Adhere to health and safety regulation always and company safety systems and policies. Comply with site safety rules to minimise work-related accidents and injuries. Send out tender quote requests and review quotes. Preparation of project requirement/risk registers. Source local pricing. Upon award, complete procurement register. Use of company software: Databuild, BlueBeam & Procore. Skills & Experience A degree or diploma in construction management, civil engineering, quantity surveying, or a related field. Proficiency in estimation software along with strong mathematical and analytical skills to perform detailed cost calculations. Understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry standards, including familiarity with relevant legislation and safety regulations. Ability to accurately interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure precise estimates. Strong verbal and written communication abilities for collaborating with team members, suppliers, and clients, along with negotiation skills for securing competitive pricing. Relevant work experience in commercial construction, ideally with a focus on estimating or quantity surveying, to develop practical knowledge of project life cycles and cost management. Ability to identify and address potential issues in project planning or execution, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
