Brown & Blacks are looking for a committed and efficient Front of House Assistant to join our growing team and learn all there is to know about providing the best customer experience in our busy and exciting restaurant and bar.
As a Front of House Assistant, it's your job to work across the restaurant and bar taking orders, providing food and keeping the drinks flowing, delivering the warmest hospitality and the highest customer service standards at all times. Needs to be able to work well under pressure.
We need you to: Welcome our customers, take orders and make sure they have everything they need to provide a great eating experience. Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks orders efficiently and competently. Verify age requirements and ensure that we comply with all local and national liquor laws at all times in relation to the consumption of alcohol. Competently pour traditional drinks and mix cocktails. Process payments correctly. Manage the stock levels, cellar processes and bar supplies. Maintain a clean and well organised restaurant and bar area so that hygiene standards are met and the restaurant and bar feel welcoming at all times. Treat each customer as your number one priority. Respond speedily and ensure that all customer requests are dealt with efficiently and effectively. Meet and greet all customers whether on the phone, face to face or online. Communicate clearly, listen to the customer's needs, provide accurate information, maintain flexibility to resolve customer requirements, and keep the customer fully updated on any changes, delays, or issues. Attention to detail is a priority. Maintain your visibility and accessibility to the customer via all the above channels so that they can easily engage with you when they need you. Consistently demonstrate friendliness and politeness. Let the positive aspects of your personality shine through and establish a friendly but professional rapport with your customers. Operate productively and efficiently, ensuring that decisions you make get things right the first time for the customer. Continuously update your knowledge about Brown & Blacks, our food and beverages, sharing this knowledge with your customers. Wait on customers across the bar and restaurant areas. Prepare all service areas by setting up glasses, cutlery, crockery, and equipment as appropriate. Ask questions and listen carefully to responses so that you can accurately establish customer needs. Provide detailed information on menus as well as knowledgeable and creative recommendations to customers. Upsell additional products when appropriate. Take accurate food and drink orders. Communicate order details to the kitchen team where applicable. Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any issues. Clear tables and carry dirty glasses, cutlery, crockery, and equipment to the kitchen for cleaning. Clean service areas – washing and polishing glasses, cutlery, crockery, and equipment, cleaning down surfaces and managing waste. Carry out all work safely and in compliance with the Company's Food Hygiene and Safety standards. Applicants must be aged over 18 to work in the bar.
Pay is negotiable dependent upon experience.
