Our core business facilitates the hiring, selling, servicing, and transporting of construction equipment including scissors, boom lifts, telehandlers and forklifts to the Construction, Material Handling and Mining sectors.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Frontend Developer Lead to drive the development of our next-generation ecommerce platform. This role focuses on delivering high-performance, scalable, and user-centric solutions using Next.js, composable ecommerce platforms, and headless CMS technologies.
As a key member of our project team, you will lead the frontend development efforts, collaborating with a designer, backend engineers, and external vendors to ensure seamless integrations and a world-class user experience. This is an office-based role working Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm from our Sydney CBD Corporate office. Responsibilities of this role will include: Lead the development of responsive, high-performance web applications using Next.js.Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate design concepts into pixel-perfect, interactive user interfaces.Integrate with commerce tools to build seamless customer experiences.Develop and maintain templates for product listings, cart, checkout, and order management pages.Ensure data synchronisation between the frontend and ecommerce platform using RESTful and GraphQL APIs.Implement and configure Builder.io to deliver dynamic content.Build reusable content components and scalable content models for marketing campaigns, landing pages, and product information.Optimise content delivery for performance and SEO best practices.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers.Collaborate with backend developers and external vendors to align on technical solutions and integration points.Work with distributed cross-functional Agile teams, both on-shore and off-shore.Design and manage API integrations between frontend, CMS, and ecommerce platforms.Ensure secure and efficient data exchanges, implementing proper authentication and authorisation mechanisms.Conduct thorough testing of all systems to ensure functionality, performance, and security.Document technical solutions, including API specs, integration workflows, and component structures.The successful candidate will have: Experience with headless commerce platforms (e.g., commerce tools, BigCommerce, or Shopify Plus).Strong understanding of headless CMS solutions (e.g., Builder.io, Contentful, or Sanity).Expertise in RESTful and GraphQL APIs, with experience in API integration and management.Deep understanding of advanced topics related to caching, CDNs, Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR), Server-Side Rendering (SSR), Static-Site Generation (SSG), and their impact on website performance, web vitals, and SEO.Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD workflows.Experience working on ecommerce implementation and digital transformation projects across retail, wholesale, manufacturing or similar industries.Familiarity with cloud hosting and deployment platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Vercel).Knowledge of user analytics tools and frameworks.Understanding of SEO and accessibility best practices.Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to take ownership of deliverables and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Benefits of Joining the Access Group team: Competitive rates with the opportunity for career progression.Comprehensive ongoing training provided.The opportunity to work for a well-established, energetic, and growing organisation.A positive workplace with an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and personal development.Employee Assistance Program (Wellness and Mental Health).A safe workplace, with a strong focus on ZERO harm.Fully equipped onsite gym.How to Apply: If you feel that you have the experience, ability, and skills, we want to hear from you!
