Job Responsibilities:Greet every member and customer that approaches the desk.Work quickly and efficiently to meet the needs of the member at the desk.Maintain awareness of the lobby area at all times – intervene as necessary with members or guests who don't check in at the desk.Control facility access, requiring member and guest identification and check in procedures.Answer phones with a smile, direct calls to the appropriate location and take messages appropriately.Schedule fitness orientations, assessments, personal training, massage and other appointments as needed.Conduct point of sale transactions for pro shop, deli, massage, personal training purchases.Conduct tours for prospects, sign up prospects for memberships and follow up with members via the various retention program activities.Receive emergency calls from within the facility and initiate the proper "code" procedures per policy.Assist with facility opening and closing procedures.Cross train to be able to assist in Kids in Motion and the Deli, as per supervisor request and need.Assist members with membership changes, including freezes, charge to account, etc.Log lost and found items that are brought to the front desk.Assist members with locker room needs as requested (unlock lockers, etc.
).Utilize the membership management software in a variety of capacities to ensure proper data collection and entry.Maintain active knowledge of HealthPlex services and programs so as to be able to accurately answer questions.Minimum Requirements:Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Some customer service, cash handling, public relations experience.
Preferred: 1+ year of customer service and public relations experience.
Special Skills and Abilities: Able to communicate effectively with a variety of people.Able to speak clearly on the telephone and in person.Able to multitask and deal with difficult customers while maintaining composure.Able to be productive during slow periods.Certifications: AHA HeartSaver First Aid/CPR/AED (Adult and Infant) within 90 days of hire.
Red Cross Basic Water Safety training within 6 months of hire.
