About the role:
We are seeking casual Cargo Screeners for aviation facilities in Brisbane, Mackay, Townsville, Rockhampton and Coolangatta.
As a Freight Screening Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of cargo goods and services flowing through our facilities. You will be responsible for conducting thorough screenings of Cargo and performing security related taskings to include gatehouse duties. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong observational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
· Perform security screenings of freight consignments using screening equipment.
· Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with transportation security regulations and guidelines.
· Identify and respond to potential threats, prohibited weapons, and suspicious behaviours.
· Document and report any security incidents or suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
If you do not currently hold Certificate II Transport Security Protection, we have a 2 week course scheduled to commence 11 November 2024. Skills, experience & requirements: · QLD Security Licence
· Certificate II Transport Security Protection (Air Cargo Examination Officer, or ability to obtain)
· AUS or relevant port, Aviation Security Identification Card (or ability to obtain)
· Dangerous Goods Awareness Certificate ( or ability to obtain)
· Excellent attention to detail and strong observational skills to identify potential threats and prohibited items.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with passengers and provide clear instructions.
· Ability to follow established protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with security regulations.
· Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to respond to security incidents and emergencies.
· Excellent computer skills to operate security screening equipment and report incidents.
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to ensure efficient and effective security screening processes.
· Ability to successfully pass Drug & Alcohol testing.
