The role
As part of our Supply Chain group, the Freight and Logistics Officer will work as a part of Saab Australia's Inventory and Logistics team and will be specifically responsible for international and domestic freight management. Further, this role assists the Inventory and Logistics team with other operational day-to-day tasks and activities such as packaging, handling, storage, and inventory management of all Hardware (HW) items under Saab's control.
Further, the successful candidate will:
Lead Saab's management of international and domestic freight, in support of corporate and operational requirements
Manage freight with Export/Import Control requirements as well as Security Classified requirements
Assist in the development and maintenance of the company Inventory & Logistics management processes and tools
Assist processing of all goods-in IAW the company processes including Receipt inspection
Coordinating dispatch and export Logistics
Coordinating WHS&E Control - Compliance, Audits, Writing Work Instructions, Training
Assisting projects and corporate with HW storage and delivery activities
Assist the Inventory & Logistics team with inventory management
Supporting technical teams in the packaging, handling, storage and transport of equipment
About You
Your skills and experience will include:
5+ years' experience in transport and logistics
Experience working in a warehouse environment as part of a team
Be an Australian citizen and being able to attain NV1 clearance
Evidence of adherence to Safe Work Practices
Experience in a certified ISO 9001 organisation
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.
