Opportunity for an experienced Freedom of Information Officer to join a Local Government authority in the Western suburbs | 2-month role | $48ph Provide advice to Council Officers on FOI and privacy matters Previous experience in FOI essential for this role Western suburbs | onsite parking available | 2-month contract | $48ph About the company: Act as Council's FOI Officer.
Provide advice to Council Officers on FOI and privacy matters.
Provide a range of administrative legal support services to the Legal Services Team including maintaining accurate records, the preparation of correspondence and documentation and administration of legal services requests.
Your key responsibilities include: Receive and process Freedom of Information requests.
Manage and answer incoming subpoenas.
Provide administrative support and/or act as an Infringement Review Officer pursuant to Council's Infringements Review Procedure.
Support the operation of the department through collaborative efforts.
Participate in the development, implementation and review of policies and procedures.
Develop and follow personal work plans and goals to efficiently handle workloads, meet deadlines, and comply with schedules.
You will have the following: Previous Freedom of Information experience highly regarded.
A knowledge and understanding of the FOI and privacy matters.
Demonstrated experience in FOI roles.
Proficiency with the MS Suite; ideally knowledge of the TRIM system.
The ability to manage multiple tasks each with competing deadlines.
Outstanding time management, strong interpersonal skills, and a high degree of professional discretion are essential.
