This 3-month part-time (3 days a week) contract position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in retail law with Freedom, a well-established Australian retail brand. You'll work alongside our experienced General Counsel, supporting our document management system upgrade and contract review processes. This role is perfect for a legal professional looking to build practical in-house experience and expand their commercial law expertise. Your ideas and input will be valued as we work to improve our legal processes. 25% staff discount on all Freedom products, including sale items Monthly themed Town Hall meetings to connect with wider teams A collaborative, friendly environment What You'll Be Working On As our Legal Counsel, you'll be: Reviewing, negotiating, drafting and advising on a range of legal documents including agreements, deeds and licenses dealing with the supply of goods and services, transport and logistics, advertising and marketing. Assisting with the review of Freedom's contracts and its contract management system, helping put all material contracts in place, and ensuring the contracts management system is up to date. Contributing to general regulatory compliance tasks. Working in a diligent and collaborative manner, taking ownership and accountability for work performed. What Type of Person Will Succeed We're looking for someone who is eager to learn and contribute to our legal operations. You'll need: Minimum of four years post-admission experience as a solicitor either in a larger firm or in-house in a retail or manufacturing business. Strong drafting capability and experience. Ability to provide clear, concise written and verbal legal advice Confident and business focused with strong interpersonal and business partnering skills.
