Freedom Fuels is an independent petroleum company with 40 Fuel & Convenience retail outlets in southeast QLD and northern NSW. We also have a further 16 Fuel & Convenience retail sites in north QLD operating under the Mobil brand through our Trinity Petroleum Services business.
As part of the Idemitsu Kosan Co Ltd group of companies, Freedom Fuels' operations extend to include retailing, terminal operations, wholesale and commercial distribution and supply.
Freedom Fuels is seeking to recruit a Paralegal to join the Legal Team at our Eagle Farm Office in Brisbane on a part-time basis. Days and hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant using 60 hours per fortnight as a guide.
Reporting to the Legal & Compliance Manager (Inhouse Lawyer), the Paralegal will be responsible for providing specialist administrative support and legal research.
Key Responsibilities: Action documentation relating to legal proceedings. Assist with commercial transactions. Draft various types of agreements, leases, correspondence, newsletters and precedents. Manage insurance claims and liaise with brokers. Filing of documents, including hard copies and electronic versions. Liaise with clients and external organisations including other law firms, government bodies, insurance companies, brokers, landlords and tenants. Assist with completion of governance and compliance for the entire business. Undertake legal research to provide background material relating to requests and enquiries. The successful applicant will have: Minimum of 3 years previous experience working in a Paralegal role. Experience in commercial, property, leasing, employment law and intellectual property. High level research skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Sound knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Access and Excel. Legal drafting and research skills. Ability to manage changing work priorities.
