Overseas on the ground presence includes Virginia (USA), Denmark, Germany and Dubai, as well as distributors in over 70 countries globally.About the roleDroneShield is seeking a Graduate / Junior FPGA Engineer to join the team in Sydney, Australia.The position will report to FPGA & DSP Team Lead.This role would have the opportunity to work and gain experience within an established FPGA team and have the opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge electronic-warfare systems. Working closely with ML/AI, RF and infrastructure teams to innovate and enhance DroneShield's world leading RF technology. It represents an exceptional opportunity for a result-driven individual in a new niche but exploding market.Responsibilities, Duties and ExpectationsSupport Senior members of the FPGA team by assisting, documenting and implementing FPGA changes as directed.Support the Design, development, and implementation of FPGA-based IP cores to support RF Digital Signal Processing.Optimisation, testing and validation of RTL implementations of DSP, ML and statistical algorithms.Optimise the core of DroneShield's technology to improve accuracy, performance, stability, and maintenance.Support the improvement of the R&D, development, verification, and validation infrastructure.Qualifications, Experience and SkillsBS/BE degree (Or higher) in Electronic Engineering, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.Solid foundation in Digital Logic Design using Verilog or VHDL is essential.Familiar with FPGA logic elements, transceivers, memory and other on-chip resources.FPGA development experience using FPGA software tools such as Vivado (preferable), Quartus, Vitis etc would be nice to have.A solid foundation and knowledge of C/C++ and a scripting language (Python).Familiarity working in a Linux environment.A background and understanding of Digital Signal Processing concepts is highly desirable.A general knowledge of RF transmission protocols and general principles is desirable.Understanding or working knowledge of Machine Learning (ML) concepts within the scope of FPGA implementation would be ideal.A structured and methodical approach to problem solving.Wanting to progress into a design role in the future.Note for recruitment agencies: this graduate position is only for direct applicants.
