Casual Foundation Studies Teacher role based in NewcastleAn on-campus pathway college located in the stunning University CBD campusBe part of a flexible, supportive, and successful learning environment giving our students the opportunity for future tertiary successRole The University of Newcastle College of International Education is looking for a Foundation Studies Teacher who will be facilitating learning in one of the following courses: Human Biology, Biology and/or Chemistry.
Responsibilities Preparing and delivering scheduled class lessons, practicals, workshops, and excursionsPreparing course teaching materials in collaboration with teaching team membersDeveloping course outlines, curriculum documents, and assessment tasks in collaboration with other teaching team membersDeliver engaging and varied classes to international pathways students using up-to-date pedagogical practicesPreparing exam papers and course assessments, including marking, grading, recording results, and college moderation processes as requiredConsultation with students, being available for consultation outside of class, especially for students considered to be at riskUndertaking pastoral care duties for under 18-year-old students in conjunction with the College Services Team and Learning and Teaching DirectorRequirements A recognised degree involving the study of Human Biology, Biology, and/or ChemistryQualifications and relevant experience in teaching that aligns with the Foundation standardsMotivation and interest in teaching international students and student learningExcellent organisational skillsExcellent verbal and written communicationIntellectual and operational flexibilityWorking with Children CheckDemonstrated background in professional development endeavours (desirable)Experience in teaching international students (desirable)Kaplan and the University of Newcastle Kaplan is one of the world's leading providers of lifelong education, helping over one million students around the globe achieve their educational and career goals each year.
