About the role Are you passionate about animal welfare, community engagement, and building relationships?
We're looking for a dedicated Foster Care Coordinator to join our team and help ensure the success of RSPCA Queensland's foster care program.
In this role, you will recruit, train, and support foster carers while coordinating animal placements to meet their individual needs.
You'll foster strong relationships within the community and ensure a positive experience for foster carers, animals, and staff alike.
This role will also involve creating and managing initiatives to enhance the foster care program while aligning with RSPCA's strategic goals.

What you'll do Foster Carer Recruitment and Support:Identify, recruit, and interview potential foster carers.Coordinate onboarding and training for new carers, ensuring alignment with program protocols.Provide ongoing guidance, support, and resources to foster carers.Address concerns or challenges raised by carers and provide timely solutions.Build strong, lasting relationships with carers to ensure retention and a positive fostering experience.Animal Placement and Monitoring:Match animals with suitable foster carers based on their needs and capabilities.Regularly monitor and assess the health, well-being, and progress of foster animals.Conduct check-ins with foster carers to track progress and resolve any issues.Program Management and Administration:Maintain accurate records of foster placements, including animal details, medical records, and communications.Report on program statistics, including foster numbers, adoption outcomes, and feedback.Implement and manage initiatives to align with RSPCA's Animal Services strategic plan.Set and monitor targets in collaboration with the Head of Animal Services to reduce animal length of stay.Community Engagement and Training:Facilitate and lead foster carer support groups.Organise and attend community events to recruit carers and facilitate animal placements.Develop and deliver training resources for staff, volunteers, and foster carers.Collaborate with other departments to ensure exceptional support and communication with stakeholders.Confidently handle animals to support foster placements and ensure their well-being.Who are we looking for?
