This role focuses on supporting and empowering foster and kinship carers, ensuring they have the resources and guidance necessary to provide safe, nurturing environments for children in out-of-home care.
The Coordinator will facilitate training, support, and advocate for carers, ensuring a high standard of care across the program.
Key Responsibilities : Carer Support & Training : Deliver high-quality training and ongoing support to authorized carers, ensuring adherence to best practices.
Advocacy and Guidance : Work closely with carers to help them navigate the care system and access necessary resources.
Stakeholder Engagement : Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to facilitate seamless service delivery.
Record Keeping & Compliance : Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with legislative requirements and organizational policies.
Networking and Partnerships : Develop networks with key agencies, attending relevant meetings to stay updated on sector developments.
Essential Requirements : Qualifications : Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
Experience : Minimum 2 years working in out-of-home care, with strong knowledge of child protection and trauma-informed frameworks.
Cultural Competency : Experience working with families from CALD and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
Skills : Proven experience in networking, advocacy, and coordinating support activities.
Compliance : Valid Working With Children Check, National Criminal History Check, and NSW driver's license.
Flexibility : Ability to work evenings and some weekends as needed.
