About the role?
We are seeking a qualified Senior Accountant to be based in our Forth, Tasmania site with at least five years' experience with compliance and tax to prepare month-end accounts and deliver financial information and reports for the business and our leadership and executive teams.
Reporting to the CFO, you will be a senior member of the accounting and finance team providing business critical support to the Harvest Moon Group of entities.
This position is responsible for overseeing robust financial reporting, compliance, and taxation.
Key responsibilities include:
The preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the Harvest Moon group of entities. Ensure compliance with all tax, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements. Prepare inter-company reconciliations and ensure accuracy of transactions and balances. Execute monthly financial and management reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow and analyse variances. Provide backup support for our Nasa Payroll (fortnightly) Undertake financial modelling, complex tax matters, asset sales and acquisitions. Assist with the management of workflow for the accounting & finance team including supervising, developing and mentoring junior team members. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with relevant accounting standards. Lead the annual budgeting process, including budget preparation, review, and implementation. About you?
You will be a CA/CPA with a degree in Accounting, Business or Commerce (majoring in Accounting) with at least 5+ years' experience in a Senior role in a large privately owned company with the following personal attributes, skills and experience.
Commercially focused and technologically savvy, with an analytical and pragmatic mindset. Resilient, agile, calm and considered in approach, and can work at pace in line with the dynamic flow of the business. Competent in both Financial & Management Reporting and previous experience in the preparation of financial statements (including budget preparation and business planning) and complex tax matters. Competent in the use of the MS Suite of Products (Excel, Word & Outlook), with advanced knowledge of Excel. Great communicator who can demonstrate the ability to build solid working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
