Formwork Carpenter

Details of the offer

The candidate is expected to perform the following:
Interpret architectural and engineering drawings to understand the formwork requirements to ensure that the formwork design aligns with project specifications.Select appropriate materials for formwork, such as wood, metal, or plastic.Cut, shape, and assemble materials to create the required forms.Build, erect, and dismantle formwork structures for various concrete elements, including walls, columns, slabs, and foundations.Ensure that the formwork is level, plumb, and securely anchored to prevent shifting during the pouring of concrete.Install formwork on-site, making necessary adjustments to fit the specific dimensions and angles of the project.Use tools such as saws, levels, hammers, and nail guns to construct and secure forms.Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure that all formwork structures are safe for workers.Work closely with concrete workers, engineers, and other construction professionals to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow.Inspect formwork for defects or issues before concrete is poured to ensure that the formwork meets quality standards and is capable of holding the weight of the concrete.After the concrete has been set, dismantle the formwork carefully to avoid damaging the cured concrete.Address any challenges that arise during the construction process, such as adjusting to unexpected site conditions or changes in design.Keep records of materials used, time spent on tasks, and any issues encountered.Successful applicants will need to demonstrate the following:
A minimum of 3 years' experience.Knowledge of construction site best practices and safety procedures.White Card – Work Safety in the Construction Industry.Relevant carpentry qualification is preferred.PPE (long sleeve, long pants, hard hat, hi-vis & steel cap boots).Interested applicants may send their CVs by clicking "apply now" to be considered.
