Formal Service Waiter

Position: Formal Service Waiter Position Type : Full-Time Salary: $65,000 to $75,00 plus 11.5% superannuation per annum Location: Port Douglas QLD 4877 Our client Melaleuca Port Douglas Restaurant is looking for a full-time Formal Service Waiter to join its team as soon as possible.
This is a full-time position in their restaurant located in Port Douglas, Queensland.
Tasks & Responsibilities: Setting and arranging tables Taking reservations, greeting customers and presenting them with menus and beverage lists Recommending dishes and wines to complement food (particularly in fine-dining establishments) Taking orders and relaying them to kitchen and bar staff Serving food and beverages Opening bottles and pouring beverages including mixing liquor and assisting in the cellar Clearing tables and returning dishes and cutlery to the kitchen Removing empty bottles and used glasses from tables, and refilling and replacing glasses Collecting payments for sales and operating point of sales machines and cash registers.
Requirements: Certificate II or III in relevant field OR At least one (1) year of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed At least two (2) years of relevant experience as a Waiter Previous experience in Australia is necessary (with a minimum of 18 months of professional experience in Australia OR at least 24 months of professional experience) Strong understanding of cuisine profile Working alongside the executive Chef and Sommelier Understanding of Australian cuisine Strong knowledge of European & Australian wines Multiple course flavour wine matching and structural experience Exceptional customer service & communication skills.
