Forklift Operator / Container Packer - Port of Brisbane We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator / Container Packer with strong administrative capabilities to join our team at the Port of Brisbane. In this role, you will be responsible for handling goods in and out of the warehouse, with a focus on both forklift operation and administrative tasks related to inventory management, stock control, and container packing/unpacking. Previous experience in industrial environments such as Mining, Oil & Gas, or similar is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities: Forklift Operations: Safely operate standard counterbalance and container forklifts (preferred) for loading and unloading goods.Container Packing/Unpacking: Manually and mechanically pack and unpack containers, ensuring goods are handled and stored correctly.Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee the movement of stock in and out of the warehouse using relevant systems.Administrative Duties: Process and manage documentation for shipping, receivals, and dispatch. Ensure records of stock levels are accurate and updated in inventory management systems.Manual Handling: Participate in hands on tasks such as palletising goods, wrapping pallets, and ensuring all loads are properly restrained for transport.Stock Control: Carry out stock checks and audits, helping to ensure timely reporting of inventory levels and stock movements.Coordination: Work closely with internal teams to prioritise tasks and ensure container slot bookings are managed efficiently.Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols, ensuring the safety of yourself and others at all times. Qualifications: Forklift License (experience with heavy forklifts preferred but not essential).Experience in Industrial Warehousing: Previous exposure to warehousing in industries such as Mining, Oil & Gas, or similar environments is highly desirable.Experience in container operations and warehousing environments.Strong administrative and documentation skills, especially around stock control and inventory management.Reach Stacker License, MR License, and DG by Sea qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory.Ability to manage physically demanding tasks, including manual handling and lifting.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
