Job Description – Warehouse Store Person J.H. Leavy & Co - Darling Group Shift Pattern Sunday 2am – 10am Monday 8 hours between 12am – 12pm Wednesday – Friday 8 hours between 12am – 12pm Job Summary This fast-paced role reports to the Warehouse Manager. It is a hands-on busy role that is responsible for both inward and outward stock movement including receiving, pick, pack and dispatch of produce and packaging, whilst maintaining accuracy and integrity of the inventory.
Operating forklifts and pallet jacks providing an efficient and effective stock dispatch and delivery service to the wholesale team and our customers ensuring that at all times food safety and quality procedures are followed to J.H. Leavy & Co high levels of professionalism and service delivery.
Key Relationships: Freight service providers, Customers, Suppliers, Logistics providers, DAWR –Department of Agriculture & Water Resources, Warehouse Manager, CEO-JH Leavy & Co, Business Development managers, International Manager JH Leavy & Co. What you will be doing Key Accountabilities Product receipt, storage, and dispatch Ensure that any stock delivered that does not meet food safety & quality or specification is clearly identified and the issue reported to the Warehouse Manager Ensure any discrepancies found are reported to Salesperson or Warehouse Manager Ensure all receival paperwork is collected, completed where required, then delivered to office. Store product in appropriate area, or as directed. Ensure that produce is stored under appropriate conditions to maximise product food safety & quality and shelf life. Ensure adequate and effective stock rotation procedures are being followed. Pick order as per written or verbal instructions. Ensure that product meets customers specification. Pack on pallet as required. Ensure pallet transfers are recorded. Deliver order to customer's vehicle or to transport company as required. If product is returned for any reason, a signed return docket must be completed. Ensure Documented procedures are followed. Administration Ensure detailed and up to date records are kept regarding all stock and pallet receipts and dispatches. Ensure all relevant documentation is supplied to the Sales, Accounts and Administration departments so that booking in, invoicing and payments can be made in accordance with company policy and procedures. Maintain all records to meet any compliance standards. Logistics, delivery and equipment Implementation of business logistical processes and disciplines that ensure products are delivered to the customer on time, in specification and in accordance with our commitments. Ensure all equipment is treated and maintained with the appropriate duty of care. Develop and/or implement business logistical processes and disciplines that ensure products are delivered to the customer on time and in specification. Manage relationships professionally and respectfully with customers, transport providers and service providers in the daily interaction of the role. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Ensure own personal hygiene, behaviour and health is as per company's requirements. Clean warehouse and cold rooms as per schedule or more frequently if directed by Supervisor. Clean temperature probes daily if directed by Supervisor. Read and record cold room temperatures as per schedule if directed by Supervisor. Notify Food Safety & Quality Manager if any evidence of pests or rodents are sighted. Adhere to the company's policies on standards specified for the protection of produce. Key organisational responsibilities Adhere to all organisational policies, using Code of Conduct, Corporate policies, Procedures, processes, Systems and Business Conventions when undertaking tasks. Represent the company in a professional way at all times. Actively participate in team building events. Participate in professional and personal development as agreed with line manager. Deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. Assist in the ongoing development and achievement of the business by undertaking other tasks as may be required from time to time. Read and develop knowledge on both product specific and general industry issues. Workplace Safety and Wellbeing and PPE Actively participate in and comply with all health, safety and wellness initiatives and requirements. Ensure PPE equipment is in good working order, stored correctly, and any damage or misuse is reported to the Manager. Lead a culture of safety and wellbeing, ensuring safety and wellbeing policies and procedures are being adhered and PPE is being used correctly, near misses and accidents are reported accurately and completed as soon as is practicable and inductions are carried out before an employee starts work. Continually monitor, review, improve workplace safety and wellbeing systems and processes and report any concerns or ideas to manager. Participate in emergency management and business continuity activation as required. Contributing to the wider Group Contribute to continuous improvement of in-house systems and procedures. Assist with client relationship management where required and attend client and industry events to support others in the Group. Undertake and reasonable other duties as allocated which assist to fulfil the purpose of the position. What you will bring skills, abilities, experience and qualifications Forklift licence. Basic to intermediate food handling experience. Sound knowledge of the produce industry, general produce understanding. Strong commitment to providing excellent client service for external and internal customers. Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to balance competing demands and work to deadlines. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail particularly dealing with numbers and grammar. Uses organisational ability to enhance the effectiveness of others. Focused on continuous improvement within the administration, operational, sales and marketing functions. Good and confident communicator; skilful in use of language, verbal and in written form. Effective listener with good work ethic. Professional approach and manner and think clearly under pressure. Effective team player but also able to work unsupervised. Able to demonstrate confidentiality and discretion. Self-motivated and uses initiative effectively. Highly supportive, flexible, and adaptable. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour
