Rotating roster which will include weekend work and starts from 4 AMPosition Summary Moves pallets of merchandise with a stand-up electric forklift/electric pallet jack on the sales floor. Stacks merchandise from partial pallets onto full pallets and wraps in plastic wrap. Ensures that pallets placed in steel meet Costco Standards. Assists with stocking merchandise, clearing the sales floor of debris, and checking signs for accuracy. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers. Follows proper safety and security procedures and standards.
Job Duties/Essential Functions Completes daily forklift safety checklistHooks batteries up to battery chargerAssists with creating drop list of merchandise for placement in aislesCommunicates with floor managers to set priorities and determine merchandise placementMoves pallets of merchandise using electric forklift and electric palletUses/acts as spotter to alert forklift driver if something is falling and to keep people out of the fall-danger zoneWraps pallets in plastic wrap and attaches a merchandise tagStacks merchandise from partial pallets onto full palletsRemoves empty pallets from the sales floorRotates stock as necessaryEnsures that all pallets being placed in steel meet Costco StandardsAssists with stockingClears sales floor of debrisChecks merchandise sign accuracyEnsures that the steel safety inspection checklist issues are rectifiedMarks unmarked merchandise with item numberFollows proper Merchandising and general safety procedures and standardsAssists in other departments of the warehouse as necessaryProvides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliersAbility to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery Forklift, electric pallet jack, pallet jack, battery charger, computer, calculator, shrink wrap machine, pallets, license labels, cutter, broom and writing utensils.
Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry specific skills that candidates should possess) Education/Training: High School Certificate or higher
Licenses/Certifications: Current forklift driving licence
Experience/Skills: Merchandising or comparable experience | Attention to detail | Problem solving and critical thinking skills
Other specific requirements If successful, you will be required to undertake role & department specific training within specified timeframes.
