Forest School Practitioner/Cover Supervisor

Esland Bedford School are seeking a qualified Forest School practitioner. The role entails planning and delivery of group and 1:1 Forest School sessions, as well as supporting in school with cover lessons as required. The role would be suitable for qualified Forest School practitioners with experience of a school environment; experience of working with pupils with Anxiety, Emotionally-based School Avoidance and/or ASD would be preferred.
Esland Bedford School is an independent SEMH special school for up to 50 children aged 8-18. The school provides education to day pupils, and via our unique Turning the Curve provision, to young people who have been disengaged from education for significant periods of time. We aim to maintain a nurturing and accepting environment for young people who have not had their needs met in other settings. Likewise, we also aim to provide a work/life balance to staff not available in larger schools.

Key Responsibilities: Plan, organize, and deliver engaging outdoor learning sessions for students of various ages Foster an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages exploration and personal growth Provide clear, constructive feedback to aid students in their learning and development Monitor student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive, enriching educational experience Qualifications and Skills: Forest School Level 3 qualification Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality outdoor education sessions Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students Excellent organizational and time-management abilities A passion for outdoor education and a dedication to helping students achieve their potential A full, UK driving licence About Esland With over 35 years of residential childcare experience, the Esland group now has more than 60 residential children's and assessment homes, and three schools, that are spread across the Kent, Hertfordshire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Staffordshire, Wiltshire, Bedfordshire, Nottinghamshire, West Midlands and Northamptonshire regions of England.
