A collaborative and supportive work environment Opportunities for ongoing training and career progression Access to self-paced e-learning with GO1 About the role: This role is based at our Sunny Corner Forestry depot and provides key leadership in operational and firefighting activities, ensuring the efficient execution of forest maintenance, fire preparedness, and protection strategies.
We would love you to have/be: Ability to lead a team with a high level of independence; Ability to train, mentor, and coach staff under supervision; Ability to recognise and manage competing priorities and through planning and adjusting activities meet deadlines to expected standards; Demonstrated experience in forest operations with the ability to implement operational plans; Well-developed negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills to deal with varied stakeholders; Developed technical skills in navigation, GPS, and smart devices; Developed computer literacy and ability to use routine software; Capacity to operate plant (particularly fire tanker), chainsaw and other equipment; Capacity and willingness to undertake and coordinate fire management activities; Current valid drivers' licence with ability to obtain a Medium Rigid drivers' licence.
