Find out more at halliwellglobal.com/apacregion.About the Role:We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Forensic Fire Investigator to join our Australian team, based in Brisbane.
This role will undertake complex fire investigations, applying your experience in cause and origin analysis and forensic methodologies.
Working closely with clients and key stakeholders, the role also plays a significant role in advancing Halliwell's reputation for excellence in forensic fire investigations.Key Responsibilities:Conduct fire investigationsEnsure the delivery of high quality, technical services within agreed time and cost parameters, and government regulatory requirementsIdentify, collect, analyse evidence, aptitude to consider physical fire patterns, and electronic data.Promote client excellence by being responsive to client needs ensuring matters managed, clearly scoped and that delivery is to the required timeframe and budget and meet client expectations through regular review and reporting.Collaborate with law enforcement, loss adjusters, insurance firms and other key stakeholders to provide clear, concise reports and expert opinionsEnsure key milestones and financial returns are met and any financial or project risks are controlled or mitigated.Perform specialist work involving independence in approach, demanding a high degree of judgement, and highly specialised expertise and a broad appreciation of the various technical specialisations involved in project work.Provide expert testimony in court and legal settings, as requiredDocument and preserve evidence in accordance with chain of custody protocolsMentor junior team members, providing guidance on technical and procedural mattersMaintain and improve the safety culture within the team.Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and key internal and external stakeholdersAbout You:Required Skills and Qualifications:Tertiary qualification in Forensic Science, Fire Engineering or a related field, or suitable equivalent experience (including but not limited to police or fire services, investigations or legal consulting)Minimum of 3 years of experience in fire investigationStrong understanding of fire dynamics, building construction, and forensic analysis techniquesProven experience providing expert testimony would be advantageousExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including project-reportingStrong problem-solving skills and capability to adapt quickly to unforeseen situations, thinking outside the box for solutionsProven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environmentExperience leading and/or mentoring junior staff would be advantageousValid driver's license and ability to travel as neededYour application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?How many years' experience do you have as an Investigator?Do you have a current Australian driver's licence?
