FIS provides evidence-based screening, assessment and intervention services for individuals in custody and the community. We focus on areas such as violent and sexual offending, restorative justice, violent extremism and family violence.
As part of the leadership group of our Barwon South West team, you will oversee the treatment of complex cases across a precinct of four mixed-security prisons, including the brand-new Western Plains Correctional Centre.

You will oversee and deliver risk assessments, interventions and individual treatments to individuals with complex forensic needs.
What is the adapted interventions team? (One vacancy) The adapted interventions team provides offence-specific screening, assessment and intervention with service users with cognitive impairment in custody and the community.
You will also: deliver high-quality supervision and professional development to forensic staffdrive workforce capability through training and education initiativesmanage quality assurance processes for treatment plans and risk assessmentsbuild and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholderscontribute to research, policy development and recruitment of forensic staff.To learn more about the role, and the kind of candidate we are looking for, please read the position description. General registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).Be credentialed as a mental health nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.Registration as an occupational therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.Successful candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include national police checks and misconduct screening.
