This position is located in the DEA, Sydney, Australia Resident Office. QualificationsGS-09: Must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 Federal grade level in assisting in performing administrative duties in support of an office, including:
Researching regulations and other pertinent directivesAssisting in maintaining office supplies and property managementAnswering general inquiries regarding leave and payAssisting in performing routine tasks in support of the administration of a small, stable budget, such as maintaining accountsProviding advice and assistance on administrative mattersOR
A master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or a LL.B.
or J.D., if related; OR a combination of graduate level education and specialized experience.
GS-11: Must have one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-09 level that involves providing administrative support related to:
Coordinating and providing guidance in the areas of financial management, procurement and property management, personnel management, and vehicle managementMaintaining organization files and reportsPerforming other general administrative support functionsOR
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related; OR a combination of education and specialized experience.
Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
Training Requirements: Selectees for this position must successfully complete five mandatory foreign assignment courses on DEALS: Serving Abroad for Families and Employees (SAFE); Personnel Recovery 1 (PR1); Foreign Orientation Program (FOP); Counter Threat Awareness Training (CTAT), and Promoting International Religious Freedom (PIRF).
Selectees must also successfully complete Personnel Recovery Emergency Preparedness (PREP), a two week in-person course conducted by the DEA Office of Training in Stafford, Virginia and West Virginia.
Individual and dependents are required to pass a physical examination given by the State Department.
