Synergy is proud to be Western Australia's largest electricity generator and energy retailer.
We deliver secure electricity to homes and businesses throughout the Southwest Interconnected System (SWIS) from Coral Bay in the north, to Kalgoorlie in the east, and to Esperance in the south.
Role Description:The Forecasting Analyst is a 6-month Max Term parental leave cover, this is an opportunity to support our Customer Business Unit with strategic and commercial decision making through electricity demand and revenue modelling and analysis.
Job responsibilities:Develop, maintain and operate demand forecasting models for Customer BU that improves accuracy and enables the team to evaluate risks and opportunities.Present modelling results in a non-technical manner to support leadership decision-making, giving recommendations on expected scenarios and financial value.Coordinate with key inter- and outer-BU stakeholders to deliver forecast demand and revenue inputs in line with Synergy strategic and operational requirements.Critically review modelling assumptions and ensure they reflect Customer BU, Synergy and wider electricity market expectations.Collaborate with other Business Units (Finance, Wholesale and Future Energy) to ensure corporate assumptions alignment.What you will bring:Proficiency with modelling, analytical and visualisation tool sets: R, Python, PowerBI and/or other industry recognised tools.Relevant experience in application of advanced analytics, including regression modelling, econometrics, time series modelling, forecasting, and/or statistical sampling.Demonstrated experience in targeted financial or economic analysis and modelling to solve complex business problems.Demonstrated success in presenting complex information and communicating analysis findings to management to assist decision-making.What we offer:Working for an employer of choice also means you will enjoy:
