Location ProfileEdgars Creek Secondary College is situated in the growth corridor of Wollert, in the geographical area of Whittlesea in Melbourne. Our college consists of approximately 1308 students and 130 staff, including Principal class, Education Support Staff, Leading Teachers, Learning Specialists, and Classroom teachers. The college provides modern facilities, including well-maintained learning community classrooms, Food Technology, robotics, and coding labs, as well as performance spaces.

Selection CriteriaSC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills, and experience in responding to student learning needs.
SC2 Experience in planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies, guided by student learning, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student growth.
SC3 Experience in monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform teaching practice and providing feedback on student learning growth to students and parents.
SC4 Interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader school community.
SC5 Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, with experience in reflecting upon practice and engaging in professional learning.
RoleThe classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges - range 1 and range 2. The primary focus is on planning, preparation, and teaching programs to achieve specific student outcomes. Classroom teachers may be required to undertake other duties in addition to their rostered teaching duties.
ResponsibilitiesThe role of classroom teacher may include but is not limited to:
Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of a curriculum area;Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties;Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps, and excursions;Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.Who May ApplyTeachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach in the specified curriculum area(s).
