With a network exceeding 500 charity partners, the organization distributes about 1.2 million meals monthly. Currently experiencing exciting growth, the opportunity for a new Food Sourcing Manager has arisen to join the Foodbank Victoria team in Yarraville.
The Role:
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the new Food Sourcing Manager will:
Strategically manage the food supply chain, maintaining a split between donated and purchased food.Lead and split the commercial sourcing team into two focused groups, overseeing a total of 4 direct reports.Develop and strengthen relationships with an existing donor base, aiming to increase donations across all categories.Innovate and implement purchasing strategies with donated funds to maximize organizational impact.Engage actively with donors and stakeholders outside the office setting to enhance partnerships and food donations. Skills & Experience: Extensive experience in FMCG/Food manufacturing with a focus on business development, commercial procurement, or technical product development.Strong understanding of food safety, compliance issues, and legal aspects of food distribution.Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to mentor and lead teams towards achieving strategic objectives.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, adept at negotiating and driving commercial outcomes.Creative problem-solving skills with an ability to innovate in partnerships, food waste management, and food security.
