Casual Positions Salary Packaging benefits up to $15,900 annually to maximise your take home pay About the role In this position you will work as part of a cohesive team, undertaking general catering duties for the provision of high quality catering services.
Daily duties include but are not limited to: assisting in the preparation, cooking, distribution and serving of all types of meals principally for residents but also for visitors, staff and for functions observing food safety, HACCP, quality and hygiene standards as well as adhering to SCC policies and procedures maintaining accurate relevant catering records including the monitoring and recording of food temperatures reporting any feedback from residents' on their satisfaction or otherwise for meals provided Working positively and collaboratively with other staff to provide person centred food services and supports that is safe and effective Supporting each resident make their own food decisions, in conjunction with Nursing staff, to enable them to feel socially connected This role also includes the allocated task of stacking food boxes into the delivery van and driving between sites and to our Independent Living Units to deliver food.
Therefore, candidates must have a SA Drivers Licence and be comfortable driving a van.
You must also be prepared to stack, unpack and deliver large food boxes.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience: Previous experience in a food handling role Previous experience driving commercial vans Hold a current and valid Driver's License which permits you to drive in South Australia Sound best practice food handling skills as appropriate to the role Adequate communication skills and a good level of English literacy Ability to speak in a manner that older people can understand Sound manual handling skills Good time management in order to manage own workload without direct supervision, to complete tasks within the allocated time Basic understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours About us Southern Cross Care is one of Australia's leading charitable aged care and retirement living service providers.
