This role will report to the General Manager of Catering and work alongside an in-house Clinical Dietetics and Speech Pathology team.
The key objective of this role is to work across Montefiore's three campuses to:
Advocate for optimum nutrition care of our consumers through effective menu planning, implementation of nutrition programs, recipe development, and food supply.Translate nutrition specifications, food safety regulations, accreditation standards, nutrition guidelines, and policies into practical application for food service management.Critical components of this role involve collaboration with key stakeholders, effective communication, training staff on IDDSI and food safety, and completing relevant healthcare audits in a timely manner.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following: Bachelor or postgraduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and be eligible to be a full member of Dietitians Australia.Knowledge of nutrient requirements along with expertise in nutritional content of foods including diet specifications, food guides, and associated policies, guidelines, and standards.Previous experience with food service education, regulation, and standards including food labelling, food safety, and allergen regulations, HACCP, accreditation standards, and codes of practice.Previous experience with recipe documentation and standardisation with a focus on the institutional food service context.Knowledge of food service processes involving manual and electronic menu ordering systems, procurement, preparation, meal assembly, and distribution.Solid analytical skills to efficiently collect and analyse data.Strong communication and organisational skills.Ability to work autonomously with well-developed time management skills.A practical understanding of the Jewish culture and community.Strong innovation skills, personal characteristics, interpersonal intelligence, and technical expertise to drive progress.We welcome applications from Dietitians who can demonstrate experience working with the older population, who are passionate about delivering excellent client service, and a desire to make a difference in the lives of older people in the community.
