About the role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Product Quality Specialist to join our team at the Fremantle production site.
The successful applicant will serve as the SQF Practitioner, ensuring our products meet both internal and external quality standards.
This role is crucial for maintaining compliance with the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program and enhancing our dedication to food safety.
Experience in New Product Development (NPD) will be beneficial in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain the site food quality and safety program to ensure compliance with customer and legislative requirements relating to HACCP, SQF, Department of Agriculture, and FSANZ, ensuring our commitment to safety and quality.
Develop, maintain, and update quality assurance policies and procedures that reflect our core values.
Maintain and manage all quality assurance functions including microbiological testing, sensory testing, shelf-life testing, equipment calibration, and water analysis and monitoring, etc.
Conduct regular GMP audits and inspections to ensure compliance, promoting a culture of productivity and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with production to address quality issues and implement corrective actions, fostering a respectful and supportive work environment.
Work closely with production and to continuously develop and provide training and guidance to staff on quality assurance practices food safety standards and promote a culture for food safety.
Analyse food safety and quality data and prepare reports for management reviews, contributing to our continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide technical support in New Product Development projects to ensure quality and food safety standards are met from conception to launch.
Prepare for and lead third party audits conducted by SQF, Export Requirements and our customers.
HACCP Team Leader - maintain the HACCP plan (including VACCP/TACCP), verification programs and training needs of the HACCP team.
Conduct investigation into food safety and quality issues as they arise, identify corrective actions to minimise impact and drive continuous improvement
Assist in New Product Development projects to ensure quality standards are met from conception to launch.

In addition, we are looking for somebody that meets the below criteria:
Selection criteria
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
Proven experience in quality assurance within the food industry, preferably with SQF certification.
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality management systems.
Experience in New Product Development (NPD) is beneficial.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, embodying our values of respect and teamwork.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, driving productivity and quality.
