Our team is growing and we are currently seeking a Food Safety Manager to be based in Perth ideally, but open to other capital cities. This role will be a Full Time opportunity.
Mining or healthcare experience is very highly regarded.
The Food Safety Manager will be responsible for the following:
Performing checks on the business for any breaches of food safety.
Report and engage with client and government stakeholders.
Identifying any potential food safety hazards and putting control measures in place to prevent them.
Ensuring all staff receive the correct training on the correct food safety practices.
Monitoring all employees in the workplace are and ensuring that they maintain a high standard of personal hygiene.
Coordinate and conduct adhoc and scheduled internal Food Safety/ HACCP and supplier audits and reports
Record all findings from Compliance audits, and report the results of the audit, ensuring agreed actions and remedies are documented/ delivered to address findings.
Provide specialist Food Safety/ HACCP, Halal, Environmental advice to external/internal stakeholders as required.
Investigate, report, and analyse customer complaints, including food poisoning allegations and other safety investigations and supplier non-conformances.
Maintain current knowledge of all State and Federal Food Safety legislations (Acts, Regulations, and Compliance Codes etc) by accessing regular updates, attending any relevant seminars and networking
Pro-actively address performance issues, by identifying areas of non-conformance, their root cause, and supporting preventative actions

Minimum Criteria:
Food Safety Manager certification
Tertiary education with Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or similar
Minimum 5 years working experience in the food industry, preferably within a mining or healthcare sector
Food Safety Auditing (Internal and External)
HACCP Qualification
Prior knowledge / experience in ISO22000:2018 certification
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong interpersonal skills. Conflict resolution skills are essential
Strong PC skills (excel, word) data entry accuracy
High levels of attention to detail
Must be flexible and a mature team player
The ability to build strong working relationships and communicate at all levels
Good planning skills
