Food Preparation & Cooking - Urban Desi Group Pty Ltd Ta Bombay Bloomers

Bombay Bloomers, based in Randwick, NSW have a vacancy for a cook in their restaurant.
This is a full-time position for the person, who has the experience, skills, and passion of new learnings and cooking.
Main Responsibilities: • Set up the kitchen with clean cooking utensils and equipment; • Examine foodstuffs to ensure quality • Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients; • Menu planning and seasonal menu development; • Plan, prepare and cook food for customers in a timely manner and cater to in-house occasions and events; • Adjust temperature of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment • Season food during cooking process; • Cater to customers with special dietary requirements including those with allergies; • Examine and ensure quality of dishes throughout preparation, cooking and presenting; • Ensure appealing plate presentation, portion food, adding gravies, sauces and garnishes; • Confer with superiors on food preparation issues; • Ensure compliance with all health, hygiene and safety rules and regulations within the kitchen area; • store food in temperature-controlled facilities, freezing and preserving food.
Knowledge/Skills & Experience-Required: • Holds a Certificate Ill in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent.
• Holds a current Food Handling Certificate.
• At least three years of relevant experience as cook.
• Ability to implement day to day policies and procedures as directed.
• Ensure high standard and quality of food preparation and productivity; • Be able to work under pressure and give attention to details; • Ability to show initiative and judgement in the workplace.
Salary - $75,000 plus Super Only eligible and shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
