Our client Railway Motel and Function Centre t/a Quality Inn Railway & Function Centre is looking for Chefs & Cooks.
Position Overview: Responsible for contributing to the on-going success of the Kitchen, working together as a team.
Ensure all meals are prepared, cooked and presented to a high level of presentation to satisfy our guests expectations.
Liaise with other kitchen and restaurant staff to provide efficient operation of the Kitchen.
General Responsibilities: Demonstrate competency in all duties as required for the position as outlined in the relevant Award / Agreement / Contract.
Follow property procedures with respect to grooming, performance and conduct standards, occupational health and safety, emergency procedures and all other property policies and procedures as detailed in the employee handbook, department procedure manual and company policy manuals.
Use safe manual handling techniques at all times and take a consultative role to assist in achieving a healthy and safe working environment.
Ensure all operating equipment is in good working order, reporting any unsafe work conditions, faults and repairs or cleaning needs to appropriate department.
Comply with work practices and wear protective clothing where it is necessary and has been provided by the establishment.
Maintain procedures to minimize our impact on the environment and prevent pollution.
Ensure wherever possible that employees are provided with a workplace free of discrimination, harassment and victimization.
Treat customers and colleagues from all cultural groups with respect and sensitivity.
Identify and deal with issues which may cause cross cultural conflict or misunderstanding.
Perform any other duties within the employee's range of competence as required by management.
Reporting Responsibilities: Minimize shrinkage by monitoring stock levels Provide feedback to management on kitchen operations Monitor kitchen operations Personal Responsibilities: Achieve competency in all duties required for the position as outlined in the relevant Award Team Responsibilities: Maintain cleanliness, OH&S, Hygiene and order in the Kitchen Monitor equipment use and ensure all equipment is in working order Report as required to Operations Manager and General Manager Maintain good working relationship with suppliers Ensure hotel standards are met and exceeded at all times Work with the Restaurant staff to maintain a consistently high level of service Monitor wastage in all kitchen operations Meet food cost targets as directed by management Summary of role requirements: Flexible hours available More than 4 years of relevant work experience required for this role Working rights required for this role Expected salary: $73,150 - $80,000 per year
