Key Responsibilities of Food & Domestic Assistant: Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to established recipes and guidelines for Yarrawonga Health patients/residents. Ensure food items are properly stored, labeled, and rotated to maintain freshness. Service and Presentation: Plate and present dishes in an aesthetically pleasing manner. Assist with the serving of meals to patients/residents. Customer Interaction: Provide friendly and efficient service to patients/residents, addressing their needs and ensuring a positive experience. Answer questions regarding menu items and special dietary requirements. Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste. Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards to ensure a safe dining environment. Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies. Assist in placing orders and restocking items as needed. Collaboration: Work closely with all Yarrawonga Health staff and management to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and fulfill customer requests. Key Selection Criteria for Food & Domestic Assistant: Must be able to work all shifts, weekly, afternoon and weekends including public holidays. Computer skills at a basic level. Understanding of confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills. Ability to work with a wide variety of people. Self-motivated with a high level of communication and organizational skills demonstrated ability to work alone. Desirable: Previous experience in cleaning, preferably in a healthcare setting. Knowledge of infection control practices and procedures. Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials. Skills and Abilities: Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and moving equipment.
