Job Description Full Time position Morning Shift - Wednesday to Sunday (10am - 6pm) Working in the Food Microbiology Laboratory, the Senior Analyst/Microbiologist is responsible for performing analytical methods, operating equipment/analytical instruments, and managing sample registration and disposal.
The Senior Analyst/Microbiologist may have a supervisory role over an area within the laboratory, a particular suite of testing or provide general guidance to Analysts and Laboratory Technicians in the laboratory.
The position will support method development, laboratory optimisation and have a major contribution to the objectives of the laboratory.
Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Science or equivalent qualification; or equivalent experience.
At least 3-5 years' experience in NATA accredited commercial laboratory.
Experience in PCR/results reading & confirmation.
NATA signatory will be added advantage Experience in using different equipment/instrumental and sample preparation techniques.
Technical knowledge in the relevant scientific discipline.
Good knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel.
