Food Services Officer Royal Melbourne Hospital Part Time - 72 hours per fortnight Long Service Leave Cover - 12 Month contract September 2024 - August 2025 Melbourne Health is an award winning health care service and is Victoria's second largest public health service.
We provide comprehensive acute, sub-acute, general, specialist medical and mental health services through both inpatient and community based facilities through the following services: The Royal Melbourne Hospital – City Campus, The Royal Melbourne Hospital – Royal Park Campus, North Western Mental Health, North West Dialysis Service and Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory.

Our friendly and professional Support Services Team at the Royal Melbourne Hospital - Royal Park Campus are looking for a Food Service Officer to join our team.
Food Services interact with staff, patients, relatives and colleagues and their actions and behaviours are guided by the organisations values of People First, Lead with Kindness and Excellence Together.
Food Services are an integral part of the hospital team.

About the role: Oversee on floor management of all daily rethermalisation, plating and distribution functions.
Liaise with patients and other Hospital departments within area of responsibility.
Oversee Occupational Health and Safety issues as requested.
Co-ordinate and monitor in conjunction with Unit Manager on quality issues like quality control and hygiene standards.
Provide regular on the job training when requested.
Provide staff induction when requested.
Carry out appropriate disciplinary action when directed by the Unit Manager.
Ensure that sufficient staff are rostered on at all times.
Oversee daily food monitoring duties.
Assist with preparation of payroll; perform quality assurance activities and reports on a daily basis as directed.
Your success in this role, will be in your ability to: Demonstrate ongoing commitment to Quality Improvement.
Follow quality practices of good and safe food handling and ensure cook chill guidelines are adhered to.
Ensure all work is conducted in a safe manner in line with Melbourne Health Occupation Health & Safety guidelines and procedures.
Demonstrate organizational and individual commitment to patient focus and continuum of care.
About You: Safe Food Handling Certificate for Health Industry or equivalent Ability to manage a team.
Ability to plan rosters.
Good people and communication skills Good computer skills in Excel, Work and outlook High standard of personal cleanliness and hygiene.
