Key Responsibilities
Duties include being responsible for the entire running of the cafe, including the coordination and overseeing of the different areas of the cafe.
Work with other team members (including Head Chef, Sous Chef, etc.) in the performance of duties as set out below:
Assist with writing rosters and shift planning.
Work alongside and supervise all team members of a lower level.
Able to perform and delegate all key duties of other positions.
On call for any emergencies.
Accurately record sales and banking.
Investigate, explain, and report on any discrepancies to the owner.
Recruit, induct, train, and exit employees in conjunction with the owner.
Control COG's expenditures through the development and use of effective par levels.
Control COG's through effective menu writing, costing, and analysis.
Control COE expenditures through effective rostering and running of shifts.
Maintain stock control through recording and monitoring wastage, effective ordering/receiving, and storage procedures.
Negotiate with suppliers to gain the highest quality products at the best prices possible.
Training and ongoing development of all team members.
Enforce daily and weekly systems and procedures to ensure a high level of presentation, hygiene, service, product quality, and security.
Effectively discipline and praise staff as required.
Perform administrative duties (i.e. collecting invoices, recording food safety requirements).
Ensure all menu items are available throughout the entire trading day.
Ensure the cleanliness of the store is in alignment with Food Safety.
Ensure all promotional products are displayed and staff are informed.
