We are seeking a Freedom of Information (FOI) Officer to provide support for our Legal Department.
This is a Part Time (0.6FTE), Fixed Term (March 2026) position.
While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at Doncaster in line with our hybrid working model.
About the role Reporting to the Lead FOI, responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: * Process FOI applications for documents and make an independent informed judgement as the authorised officer under the Victorian Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) in accordance with statutory timeframes and requirements * Process requests for information/documents in accordance with the relevant Act which includes, but is not limited to, the following: * Health Records Act * Coroners Act * Child Protection Act * Privacy and Data Protection Act * Crimes Act * TAC Act * Provide timely advice on the interpretation and application of the FOI Act and relevant processes to internal stakeholders and FOI applicants * Proficiently operate the Content Manager Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS), Oracle, VACIS, Chris 21 and AV Event Registers About you To be considered for this position you will possess qualifications (diploma, degree, or industry certification) with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and relevant experience.
Other requirements include: * Knowledge and understanding of the FOI Act and associated Professional Standards, Privacy and Data Protection Act and Health Records Act * Attention to detail using appropriate checking processes to ensure information is recorded and provided accurately * High level of personal integrity and professional conduct and the judgement and maturity to ensure matters of a confidential or sensitive nature are handled and dealt with appropriately and diplomatically in accordance with legal requirements * Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications Working at Ambulance Victoria As a valued member of AV you will enjoy a professional working environment that recognises the importance of work/life balance.
