Our businesses have an exciting opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic Warehouse Manager to join our team.
Your day-to-day duties will see you facilitating the logistical requirements of stock movement for our staff and customers, including goods receival and dispatch, cutting and preparing carpet rolls to required lengths using machinery, assisting with customer and subcontractor collections from our warehouse, liaising with our sales and estimating teams regarding product availability and readiness, and unloading/loading goods using forklifts.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a fast-paced and solutions-driven role, and an ability to operate a forklift with carpet pole attachment using skill and safe practices. Your customer-focused, team-based approach to work and ability to think critically while managing multiple priorities will make you a valued member of our team.
Key responsibilities: Manage and coordinate all warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing and dispatching materials and orders, ensuring paperwork and data entry is up to date.Cut and prepare carpet to project specific requirements using a forklift and carpet cutting machinery.Liaise with sales, logistics and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.Implement and maintain warehouse procedures and systems to optimise workflow and operational efficiency.Organise and prepare outgoing goods for collection by customers, staff, and our subcontracted tradespeople.Process incoming goods, ensuring accurate labelling, record-keeping and data entry into computer systems.Manage forklifts by ensuring regular servicing schedules are adhered to and fuel refills are maintained.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and customer service.Manage and maintain warehouse cleanliness and organisation to a high standard.Always provide professional and friendly service to customers and third parties.The ideal candidate will: Have relevant experience in a warehouse or logistics management role, preferably within the manufacturing or retail sectors.Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills and a professional approach to work.Have a high level of attention to detail, problem-solving skills and an adaptable nature.Have a safety mindset and appropriate fitness to perform lifting and repetitive movement.Demonstrate knowledge of inventory control and stock management best practices.Hold a current High-Risk forklift licence and have previous experience using a carpet pole attachment.Proficient IT skills with experience using warehouse/inventory management systems and Microsoft Office suite.Be able to work in a team and/or autonomously.Be enthusiastic and approachable.The following attributes will be highly regarded, but are not essential: Have previous experience in using carpet cutting machinery (training provided).Have previous experience in managing and preparing flooring products.Experience in handling boxed furniture and rolled rugs.Experience in reading carpet cut plans and/or detailed project floor plans.This is a permanent full-time position based in Thebarton, with working days being Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 2:30pm.
