The Environment & Climate Change Business Group delivers the strategic and operational management of:Catchment, waterway and coastal management including ecological, risk and restoration programsBushland protection and restoration including threatened species and invasive species management and the control of bushfire riskStrategic environmental systems & programs, development assessment, climate change adaptation/resilience and corporate sustainabilityEnvironmental education, volunteering and engagementDevelopment engineering including subdivision works, development approvals, co-ordination of s94 works delivery and certification of development worksStormwater asset maintenance and renewalWorking with us:Northern Beaches Council provides a comprehensive range of benefits focused on our employees' lifestyle, health and wellbeing, recognition and career development. In this role you'll enjoy -Genuine work-life balance and flexible working arrangementsProfessional development and training opportunitiesWork from home opportunitiesHealth and wellbeing leaveOur opportunity:The key focus areas of this role include:Landuse planning and assessment of developments against Council's flood-related development controls.Project Management of Flood Studies, Floodplain Risk Management Studies and flood risk reduction projects.Flood preparedness and response, including lagoon and dam openings, providing flood analysis in the lead up and during potential flood events, assisting with managing of Council's flood warning systems, etc.About you:We're looking for a self-motivated and accountable professional to join our team.
