THE ROLE Plan and coordinate local fleet activity to ensure that the prime mover fleet is used effectively, efficiently, and economically, while also being responsible for optimising the fleet's productivity to ensure we meet our customers' expectations. This position requires strong management and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability and willingness to collaborate with peers and work on-site as part of a larger team. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Select appropriate equipment and load allocation to maximise use of local equipment. Provide instruction to drivers in relation to requirements and provide guidance to safe and secure methods of accomplishing loading are undertaken. Make sure paperwork is received for both pick up and deliveries. Report damages and hazards to Management, through the appropriate channels All designated vehicles to be loaded and despatched within agreed timeframes, e.g sequence delivered. Work in conjunction with Transport Manager in relation to leave management, including the management of absenteeism, annual leave planning and RDO utilisiation. Work in conjunction with Transport Manager in relation to workforce planning, including the management of overtime and resource allocations. Refer employee roster issues and leave requests to the Transport Manager. Make sure all paperwork including invoices, sub-contractor pay sheets, employee time cards are finalised and submitted for processing on time on a daily basis. Ensure that all AQIS / Customs directions are complied with at all times. Provide a high level of customer service and ensure all delivery windows are achieved. Update information as required and maintain all internal spreadsheets for weekly KPI analysis. Regularly update Linehaul Fleet Controller on requirements for intrastate Linehaul needs & shipping space requirements. Update Linehaul Fleet Controller on weekly forecast of equipment requirements for local customers. Maintain Daily Local planning documentation – Daily Planner, Sideloader Container Tracking Spreadsheet and conformance with requirements advised via Skretting Tipping Schedule, Mondelez Sugar Tipping Requirement, OneStop Metal Loading Advice etc. Liaise with site supervisors to ensure best use of the labour and equipment pool. Monitor and ensure only drivers who can meet the pick up and delivery requirements within the legislated driving hours (Standard or Basic Fatigue Management) are allocated loads. Ensure that all company drivers and contractors utilised have current inductions and are fully trained for activities as required at TGE and Customer sites. Ensure that drivers are vigilant checking load restraint on loads prior to the commencement of any trips (steel, machinery, plaster, timber etc) An inclusive workplace, works for everyone We celebrate difference.
