Cat5 Rail offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge rail equipment and major Tier 1 projects. This hands-on role involves maintaining Flashbutt Welders, Hi-Rail Excavators, Loaders, and Pettibones, ensuring reliability and safety. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, heavy machinery servicing, and mobile Flashbutt welding on and off-track.
Essential Criteria Australian Recognised Trade Certificate - WA Electrical licenceExperience in a similar Flashbutt role in Mining, Rail, Maintenance, and/or Construction.Experience with Flashbutt Welders and Track Machines.Construction White Card.Full HR Driving Licence (no restrictions).Ability to pass Rail Category 1 Medical and ongoing D&A screening.Preferred Qualifications: Cert II/III in Rail Infrastructure or equivalent.Welding units of competency: Flashbutt Welding (TLIW006) and Aluminothermic Welder (TLIW3015).Excavator, loader, roller, and skid steer experience.High-Risk Licence – Dogging, Rigging, Crane.Road/Rail vehicle certification (TLIC3045/TLIC2054).Current First Aid and 4WD training.Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on Flashbutt Welders, Hi-Rail Excavators, Loaders, and Pettibones.Diagnose faults and conduct repairs.Service heavy machinery.Safely operate all mobile equipment on and off-track.Ensure compliance with WH&S requirements and legislative policies.Complete paperwork accurately and follow procedures strictly.What We Offer Competitive pay and great conditions.Upskilling opportunities, including nationally accredited qualifications.Work on high-profile rail projects and Tier 1 rail networks.A supportive, safety-first team culture.About Us Cat5 Rail is a family-owned business operating across Australia and New Zealand.
