Fitzroy Mining Operations own and operate Carborough Downs Coal Mine, Broadlea Opencut and Ironbark No.1 Mine, the newest longwall mine in Australia.
About the role Reporting to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager, the Overhauls Engineer will design, implement and oversee asset overhaul projects and maintenance at Carborough Downs underground mine.
By developing a thorough understanding of the operating assets, you will deliver a detailed plan to execute the overall asset program.
You will also be responsible for developing a 5-year asset budget for the assets on site.
Working collaboratively with your maintenance and engineering colleagues, you will engage with relevant OEMs to develop and improve the assets to support the continual improvement of all operations at Carborough Downs.
About You Mining inductions – S1,2,3 and G2 – essential EEHA Overhaul and repair qualification – desirable A minimum of two years working in underground coal mining in a trade-based position Experience working with bord and pillar machinery, diesel machinery, conveyor equipment Experienced working with OEM's (experience working directly for an OEM is advantageous) Strengths in Project Management, budget development and cost tracking Understanding of statutory legal requirements for operating machinery in underground coal mines Excellent computer literacy including experience with Ms Office Suite, MS Project, and scheduling software, Pulse (desirable) Strong organisational skills with the ability to self-manage and work autonomously Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication and negotiation ability Fitzroy Benefits for you!
