About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Development Superintendent to join our management team at Ironbark No 1 underground coal mine.
This role is pivotal in overseeing and optimising day to day underground mining operations.
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of safety, production, budget, and environmental targets, whilst maintaining compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan long-term department activities, including the allocation of personnel and equipment.
Maximise monthly production through the completion of ancillary work.
Conduct underground audits and inspections to ensure work meets compliance and mine standards.
Ensure work is in compliance with the Coal Mine Safety and Health Act and Regulation.
Prepare and report on completed tasks, work in progress, and daily operational issues.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with peers and other departments.
Maintain compliance with all relevant legislative and environmental requirements.
Foster an operational environment that encourages continuous improvement and best practices.
Allocate, monitor, and control daily activities of production and development miners and ancillary personnel in line with budget and objectives.
Plan and oversee the operations of contractors and staff to ensure that production and maintenance targets are met.
Coordinate with technical services and other departments to optimize resource utilization on both a short-term and long-term basis.
Ensure all mine standards are consistently achieved.
Adhere to budget constraints, focusing on costs, productivity, and safety compliance.
Investigate incidents and accidents in a timely manner and take corrective actions as needed.
What We're Looking For:
To be successful in this role, we are seeking a candidate who is passionate about coal mining.
The ideal applicant will have:
Experience in Senior Management roles within an Underground Coal Mine G189 (S123) & G2 supervisory tickets Statutory knowledge Queensland Standard 11 – Surface and Underground certification.
Queensland Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain).
A proven track record of working safely.
A commitment to achieving business goals and outcomes.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
A team-oriented attitude.
