Certificate III in Engineering – MechanicalHunterNet Career Connections in partnership with our host company Hedweld Engineering are seeking an enthusiastic and mechanically minded individual to join their team in Paget QLD as a Fitting Apprentice. The successful applicant will complete the Certificate III Engineering – Mechanical while gaining on-the-job experience with an industry-leading company.

As an Apprentice your daily duties may include: Planning and execution of the day-to-day activities in relation to manufacturing, fabrication, machining of components, repairs & assembles products, with the key objective being to achieve goals and objectives of the Hedweld Group Strategic Business.Maintain a positive team atmosphere and establish a good working relationship with all other staff members.Liaise with supervisor(s) and staff to ensure tasks are completed within cost, on time and to acceptable standard.Participate in any further education and upgrading of skills required for oneself and other team members through any courses that relate to your/their responsibilities.Analyses work orders and blueprints to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations required.Determines requirements for jigs, equipment, and material.Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.Cost effectively performs general fabrication, machining, assembly, and repair work in a timely manner.Comply with company business system requirements such as Safety, Quality, Business management systems (i.e. PRONTO), schedules and production documentation.Keeps tools and machinery effectively maintained.Be responsible for the security of tools and equipment associated with the function.Upholds the organisation's commitment to Work Health and Safety.Ensuring the use of supplied PPE with oneself, team members, other employees, visitors and contractors (i.e., Helmets, glasses, goggles, gloves, boots, Hi-Vis Clothing, etc.).What we're looking for: Be able to work as part of a team and autonomously.Ability to problem solve and willingness to learn.Mechanical Aptitude.Exceptional commitment to workplace safety.Commitment to attending and completing all requirements of TAFE.Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.Applicants with the following will be highly regarded: Drivers licence and reliable transport.Experience using hand tools.Ability to work overtime.To make application for the position please send through a cover letter highlighting your suitability, and resume.
