Job Description

The Midfield Group is privately owned and operates a true 'Paddock to Plate' experience as we own farms, factories, and distribution as to ensure we retain control of the key elements of the process of getting livestock from paddock to plate.
We have a current vacancy for a highly skilled and safety focused Qualified Fitter to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria. In this role, you will be required to work alongside a crew of like-minded tradespeople to deliver maintenance onsite.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints to determine job specifications, materials requiredFault finding and operational and preventative maintenance of machines and equipmentReconditioning and repairs of mechanical componentsMeasuring and marking out cutting and bending lines and constructing base templates as requiredOperational and preventative maintenance of Hydraulic machinery and equipmentSetting up metalwork machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shearsPerforming quality checks on completed productsCompleting job reports and company permits as requiredWriting reports documenting the problem and summary of actions takenPerforming inspections of plant equipment systems to identify and replace worn partsAttending weekly maintenance meetings and toolbox talksSKILLS & EXPERIENCESCertificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting) is compulsoryStrong experience in a similar role will be highly regardedBe punctual and reliable, self-motivated, problem solver & team playerStrong interpersonal & communication skillsBasic computer literacyYou must have the right to work in Australia (38 hours/week)You must pass a drug & alcohol test and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medicalYou have already had a Q Fever vaccination or are willing to participate in the vaccination processAs part of The Midfield Group, you will also have access to our comprehensive employee benefits program:
